Pumpkin Patch!

We took a trip to the Dallas Arboretum a few weeks ago to see their gorgeous pumpkin patch!  I love doing this every year and always try to get a few good photos of the kids.  I think we got a few good ones but a family shot was impossible!  After we were finished with pictures the kids had a blast playing in the pumpkins, running around and having a picnic lunch.  We love fall weather around here!!

 

 

 

 

 

Addison's 1st and Sophia's 3rd Birthday Party

Sophia and Addison have birthday's less than 2 weeks apart so we felt like it made sense to have a joint birthday party...especially since all of our family has to drive in from out of town.  So this year we celebrated Addison's big FIRST birthday and Sophia's THIRD birthday!  My girls are growing up so fast!!

We all had a great time at the party!  It was at our house and all of the girls' family and friends were able to come which made it so special!  Everyone played, ate lunch, and then went outside for the "zoo crew" presentation!  We got to pick 8 different animals to come and our presenter talked about them and let the kids touch them if they wanted to.  Sophia LOVED touching the animals!  Then we went inside and sang Happy Birthday to the girls and had cupcakes and ice cream...yum!

Jeramy and I are so thankful to our family and friends for helping us celebrate our sweet girls on their birthdays.  Having all of you all here made the day/weekend so much more special and I know the girls feel the same way!  They got super spoiled with new clothes and toys and are having so much fun with their new stuff.  Until next year!

Lions and Tigers and Bears!

Since Sophia has never been to the zoo we thought it would be fun to take her to the Dallas Zoo on her actual birthday this year!  It turns out that this was our first big outing with both girls (other than driving to San Antonio and Austin).  I felt like we were going on a trip when I was packing (stroller, lunches, drinks, extra clothes, diapers, wipes, sunscreen, etc...) 

She really loves ALL animals and this trip was no different...she had a great time looking at all of the elephants, giraffes and zebras and even walking around among the birds and turtles!  She loved the children's zoo area as well where she could touch the goats and the ponies and get up close to several other animals.  We had a blast and plan to come back soon because we became members! :)

That night after we got home Sophia blew out 3 candles on her birthday cupcake! 

Happy Birthday, sweet Addison!

I blinked and my baby turned 1.  I definitely feel a mix of emotions.  I'm sad to be done with all of her baby things but also happy to have made it through a year of sleepless nights, feeding schedules and dirty diapers in one piece!  Happy Birthday to my sweet girl!

Addison is such a happy, sweet, caring and laid back little girl.  She is pretty much a typical second child.  She is the cuddliest little person ever...she just melts us when comes over to one of us and lays her head down on our shoulder.  She loves her family.  She loves her sister and imitates everything she does.  She loves playing with all of Sophia's toys or do whatever she is doing and Sophia can make Addison giggle without even trying!  She is always by mommy's side and definitely loves mom but saves her best smiles and laughs for her daddy!!  Oh, and I can't forget Abby...Addison just loves her dog!  Petting her, climbing on her, pulling her ears, feeding her leftovers...oh and playing in her water bowl is still a favorite!

  One Year Stats:

• Weight - 24 pounds, 2 ounces (90%)
• Height - 30 inches (75%)
• Head - 18 inches (75%)

And here is what's new this month:

• She has become a fast crawler!  Getting better at walking behind her walker and toys that move and cruising. She has let go a few times and can stand for a few seconds but then falls down.  She does not seem quite ready to walk yet.
• Very chatty and loud...she has said several new words this month.
• She can wave, clap and blow kisses!
• "talks" on the phone 
• Brushes her hair when you give her a brush and brushes her teeth when you give her a toothbrush.  Tries to stick socks on her foot and rubber bands in her hair :)
• Still on 2 naps a day.
• Such a great table food eater, she likes pretty much everything except yogurt.  If Sophia is eating something that Addison is not, she REALLY wants to try some! 
• No new teeth this month.  She still has 6 total.
• Diaper changes are so much easier than they were a few months ago.
• Size 4 diapers and size 18 month clothes
• Loves climbing the stairs the few times I have let her.
