Fun at the Park

We had gorgeous spring weather this weekend, so we decided to head to the park with Sandy, Warren, Conor and Baby Jules for a picnic and some fun.  We had so much fun and it was so cute to see the two girls interacting together for the first time.  They really enjoyed being outside and getting some fresh air.  We are looking forward to doing this a lot more this Spring and Summer!!
Sandy and Warren brought this cool tent :)
pretty girl!
Abby came too!! (do we have enough stuff??)

Conor, you are so funny
"Hi, don't I know you?"
"this hat is too big mom"
"must grab this block before my cousin does"

6 Months

Sophia turned 6 months old on March 19th!  I know I say it all the time, but can't believe she is already 6 months old.  She is still the best baby, so sweet and always happy.  We love her so much and have enjoyed every minute with her.  A lot has happened this month!  First of all her stats:
Weight: 16 pounds 2 ounces (25-50%)
Height: 26 inches - (50-75%)
Head circumference: 17 inches - (50-75%)

This month:
  • She has started moving all over the place.  She can roll around all over the place and move around really well.  She can sit for a few seconds but then tips over - so I think that will come next month.  She has gotten very mobile the last few weeks.
  • She eats 5 times a day.  One of these has included cereal or a puree the last few weeks, but Sophia does not like anything so far.  She has made it very clear that all she wants is milk.  (this last week, finally, she started liking cereal - which was after her 6 month mark :)
  • wears 6 month clothes and some 9 month clothes, and size 2 diapers
  • She got sick for the first time, twice :(  She got a virus which meant she had so stay home from daycare for a week.  Then the next week she got an ear infection.  This meant 2 rough weeks of sleeping for all of us.  We got back to sleeping through the night again at the end of this month.
  • Other than being sick, she is sleeping well and through the night.  What is great is that she has started taking good naps - normally a shorter morning nap of 30 min to an hour and a longer afternoon nap anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours.
  • She loves to grab anything and everything, and stick all of her toys, her feet and hands in her mouth.  This girl is flexible!!
  • And finally, she is teething!!  I don't know why but this came sooner than I thought it would.  Her bottom 2 teeth cut through basically on her 6 month birthday and the doctor said her top 2 teeth are not far behind.  She has been waking up a lot this last week so I know she is in pain :(  Poor baby!
It has been a wonderful 6 months and we are looking forward to the next.  I know there is so much to look forward to, but I don't want it to happen to fast!!  We love you sweet baby!

Baptism Day

With Sophia and her cousin Juliana being so close in age we decided to have them Baptized on the same day.  We did it this past Sunday and everything went perfect!  Sophia and Juliana were beautiful, they looked like little angels.:)  We were so happy that Sophia's Nana and Pops, Grandma and Grandpa, aunts and uncles, and cousins and friends could all come and be a part of her special day.  We are so happy that Sophia's Aunt Sandy and Uncle Warren were able to be her Godparents.  Both Sophia and Juliana did so good throughout the ceremony, neither one cried at all.  Sophia did fall asleep at the end, though. :)

Jeramy and I had everyone over to our house after the ceremony to celebrate and we all had such a good time!!

First Travel Experience/Happy Birthday Daddy and Nana!

February 25th was my mom/Sophia's Nana's birthday and February 26th was Jeramy's birthday, so we decided to pack up and drive down to Austin and New Braunfels for the weekend.  I'm so mad at myself for not taking very many pictures, but I did get a few...they will have to do.

We went to Austin first on Friday night.  Sophia did really good for the first 2 1/2 hours, mostly slept, then we stopped to feed and change her, and after that she did not want to be in her car seat anymore.  She was pretty unhappy for the last hour, which made it seem very long.  When we got there she was happy to be out of the car but upset that she wasn't at home.  She didn't really calm down all night which is very unlike her, so we just went to sleep and she was better in the morning...her happy self again.  The next morning she loved hanging out with her Grandma and Grandpa and got to meet her Uncle John and 3 cousins - Connor, Regan and Riley.  They all had a lot of fun together. We celebrated Jeramy's bday by going to dinner that night...can you believe he is 33!?!  Happy Birthday!!

Saturday night we headed to New Braunfels and once again Sophia was not very happy.  We started thinking that maybe she is unhappy at night because its close to her bedtime and she's not comfortable, I don't know.  Anyway, we got there and she got better.  Sunday my brother came in and she got to see her Uncle Bobby which was nice!  We went to lunch to celebrate the birthdays again and eat some yummy food.  The rest of our visit was pretty relaxing which was a nice change for Jeramy and I!!  We haven't relaxed in a while. Sophia loved spending time with her Nana, Pops and Uncle and can't wait to see them all again.  Happy Birthday Nana!

Little Aggie
Nana got this toy just for when I visit!! :)

Our trip home was on Monday morning/afternoon and went very smooth, which is why we started thinking that it is a better time to travel.  That could have just been a coincidence, though.  We had such a wonderful time with everyone and happy to have Sophia's first travel experience out of the way :)

Trying this highchair out!

She didn't really like the sweet potatoes but is smiling anyway :)

Practicing sitting!!
