Sophia is ONE!!

I cannot believe that our baby girl is ONE year old!!  This year has gone by so incredibly fast!  Our sweet Sophia is such a good baby and has such a fun personality. :)  We are so blessed to have this little girl in our life.  Here she is on her actual birthday, one year ago!

Proud daddy
Sweet Baby Girl
Excited to take her home for the first time :)
Official One Year Stats:
  • Weight - 20 pounds, 4 ounces (25-50%)
  • Height - 29 inches (25-50%)
  • Head - 18 inches (50-75%)
And here is what's new this month:
  • Can stand on her own and can take a baby step towards me.  Still getting better at walking behind her walker and toys that move and cruising.  Getting closer and closer to walking!
  • Still a very fast crawler! When she wants to go really fast she puts her head down and just takes off.
  • Says mama, dada, Abby and Hi!
  • Her favorite thing to do is make 4 noises with her mouth.  It is hilarious...she does raspberries, a tsss "snake sound", a popping sound, and clicking sound.  It will occupy her if she is grumpy to get her to make these sounds.
  • "talks" on the phone
  • Brushes her hair when you give her a brush and brushes her teeth when you give her a toothbrush.
  • On 2 naps a day (and napping so much better at her new day care!!)
  • On all table food now.  Loves all fruit, veggies, cheese, any kind of bread...and really I have not found much that she does not like...it would be nice if this continues!
  • No new teeth this month.  She still has 8 total.
  • Diaper changes are so much easier than they were a few months ago - still in size 3 diapers.
  • Size 12 month clothes and in some size 18 month.
  • Loves climbing the stairs!!
  • Loves being pushed around in her new car and wagon :)
  • Is so snuggly...such a good, tight hugger (I don't mind this at all)
  • Also, the cutest dancer.  She has been dancing more and more this month and I just love it!
And here are a few photos from this month:

YUM!

Our cute little Aggie :)

Being silly!

Loves to play with her house of shapes.

Happy girl

Sophia Grace, we fall more in love with you every single day!  I cannot believe you are already ONE!!!

11 Months!

Our precious girl turned 11 months on August 19th!  She is so much fun right now...always making us laugh and discovering new things every day!  I love this age so much :)  She is such a sweet baby and I still get comments that she is the happiest baby ever and never cries.  It is true a lot of the time, but she also has an attitude and if you make her mad she will let you know!

This month:
  • She is getting much better at walking behind the walker and along furniture.  Still not too interested in standing on her own.
  • Lots of Mama and Dada directed at us
  • 2 new teeth on bottom for a total of 8 teeth!
  • Can climb up the stairs
  • Has the title of "fastest crawler" in her class
  • Still on 5 bottles a day
  • Eating a lot of table food and still some baby food.  She seems to like most fruits, toast, carrots, green beans, avocado, yogurt, chicken, and LOVES peas.
  • Size 3 diapers and size 12 month clothes
  • Taking 2 short naps a day and sleeping great at night - does not nap well at day care but does much better at home.  This makes me feel very guilty!
  • Loves her daddy!  She thinks he is hilarious and loves playing with him and loves when he walks in the door and says hi to her, she just smiles and cracks up laughing...it is so cute!

With her favorite cousin Jules!
Waving to daddy

Her favorite toys are the real remote and her toy remote :)

Love her!!
Peaches were her favorite food for about a week!
Show us those teeth!  All 8 of them :)

I love my Baby Sophia so much!  I can't believe she's going to be 1 year in just a month and no longer a baby.  The time has gone by way too fast!

Chicago!

Jeramy had to go to Chicago for a one day work training, so we decided to make a trip out of it!  We were there for 4 days and had a wonderful time!  There is a lot to do there and we both really liked the city.  A big thank you to both of our parents for watching Sophia and Abby so that we could go on this trip, we really appreciate it!!  We missed her so much but were happy that she was in great hands. :)

This was the view of downtown from the Hancock building...amazing view!  We didn't eat at the restaurant, we only had a few expensive drinks.

Our hotel had a complimentary happy hour everyday that we took full advantage of!  4 baby free days and free alcohol, count us in!  I don't think we missed this once. :)

We went to the Navy Pier.  There is lots to do for both kids and adults...we didn't spend a lot of time here but it seemed like it could be fun.

We did an architectural riverboat tour through the Chicago River.  It was really awesome and one of the buildings we saw was the Sears Tower.  Can you see the windows at the top?  This is where people stand and look down.

Here are the windows with the zoom lense...see the people standing?

Magnificent Mile!!  Lots of shopping.

Here is one of the beaches on Lake Michigan...pretty nice to have a beach right in the middle of the city!  The waves were crazy though...
This was one of our favorite meals!  Delicious sushi...YUM!

And afterwards we went to see the Blue Man Group!  I didn't know this show originated in Chicago but that's probably why we were able to get tickets the day of...I tried to get tickets for this show ahead of time in Vegas and all that was left was $200 per ticket, these were $40 or $50!!
Inside the theater.

At Wrigley Field!!

Watching a Cubs game :)  We had so much fun at the game and this field was so cool....now we need to go to Boston!!

"Official Beer of the Chicago Cubs"
"The Bean" at Millenium Park.  So cool in person!
One of our reflections...so many people were in awe of this thing...it is pretty cool!
Relaxing at Millenium Park, having a drink and enjoying beautiful weather!

And of course we tried some Chicago Deep Dish.  Our favorite was Lou Malnati's...so good, but so filling!

It was so nice to have a getaway and spend some time together in a new place!!  We sure did miss Sophia though.  I was ready to come back and see this face!!

Nana and Pops Visit

Nana and Pops came to visit us this past weekend and we all had so much fun.  Sophia always loves spending time with her Nana and Pops and cousins.

 Happy girl!!

Conor is such a good big cousin...

We love our matching Mexican dresses from San Antonio.

 We caught Sophia mid-wave :)

Jules is too cool for school with her shades!

Thanks for coming to see us all Nana and Pops...we love you both!

10 Months

Sophia turned 10 months old last week.  Sophia is such a sweet baby but has really shown a lot of personality this month.  She squeals really loud just to hear herself talk.  She has started reacting to us telling her no - sometimes she will get really upset, and sometimes she will smile and do it again...little stinker.  She is pretty clingy to mommy and is definitely a mama's girl.  Daddy always makes her laugh and smile but she always wants to have mommy in the room. As in past months, Abby is still her best friend.  She crawls after her and has started hugging her.  We try to keep this to a minimum because of Abby's shedding :)

Beginning this month, when I pick her up from daycare, as soon as she sees me, she drops what she's doing and makes a mad dash to me from the other side of the room, sometimes crawling on top of other babies. :)

Sophia hates to have her diaper changed.  She squirms around and around and is always trying to roll over.  Giving her diaper rash cream, packages of wipes, diapers, etc to play with really help to distract her.

She pulls up on everything and can walk behind a walker with some help!  She has gotten much stronger and even has let go (by accident) while standing but quickly fell back down.  Still loves to run around in her walker, but much less interested in her jumperoo.  All of her toys still go straight to her mouth but she is also banging them together now.  Seems to like to hit faces and grab noses, mouths, pull hair, etc. :)

She started waving this month which was pretty exciting!  Now she waves bye-bye all the time and every night before bed waves bye-bye to daddy and Abby, very cute.

She got 2 more top teeth in this month, making a total of 6!  I think these have been the most painful so far, poor baby.  I broke down and bought some teething tablets, but I'm not really sure if they helped.  The doctor said she has 2 more bottom trying to come in pretty soon too.

We didn't even realize this until the other day, but Sophia eats 9 times a day!  She still has 5 bottles a day as well as breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner.  She has still been primarily eating babyfood for her meals but we add a little tablefood in at snack and dinner sometimes.  We are going to try to start adding more next month.  She also drinks water out of a sippy cup - and also loves to pour it everywhere and then play with it :)

Sophia is still wearing size 3 diapers and size 9-12 month clothes.  She went to the doctor because she got sick (again, sigh) and she weighs 19 pounds.  I'm not sure how tall she is, but I'm pretty sure she is shorter than her cousin Jules (who is 2 months younger).

Sophia has been really difficult for me to photograph this month because she is always moving around and crazy, or I am holding her.  This is the reason for the lack of pictures this month...

Happy 10 months Sophia!  You are truly a blessing to your daddy and I and we just love you so much.
